We are proud to announce the successful deployment of our RIS (Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces) technology into a 5G network—a premiere outside of Asia!
As part of the European RISE6G project, this pilot deployment, conducted in partnership with Orange and SNCF at the Rennes train station, witnessed the seamless integration of our RIS into Orange’s 27 GHz 5G network.
Greenerwave’s RIS 2.0, integrated with existing 5G antennas, effectively eliminated coverage gaps in the 27 GHz network, even doubling data speeds in areas with limited connectivity.
This innovative solution not only enhances network performance but also reduces infrastructure costs and carbon footprint by half. Scalable, cost-effective, eco-friendly, and easy to deploy, it represents a transformative step forward in optimizing network quality with minimal environmental impact.
“This pioneering project […] demonstrates the tangible benefits of our RIS technology in challenging urban environments, without requiring additional antennas. This achievement underscores the revolutionary potential of RIS technology to reshape the future of telecommunications.” – Geoffroy Lerosey
Beyond this pilot deployment, our RIS technology—available across all frequency bands—serves as an invaluable resource for research institutions aiming to advance wireless technologies and explore new use cases. Contact us for more information. Youssef Nasser, Agathe Cerceau
